Name: Mark Whitehead
Age: 60 years old
Favourite distance: 10k for running and Sprint distance for triathlon. I like the way I can pace myself on a 10k run but I like the thrill of the shorter distances in sprint triathlons. I hope to be working towards an olympic distance event in the future though.
Favourite race and why: After Newmarket (it was my first triathlon) I will say St Neots as it was my first open water event and although I panicked a little I got round and loved the feeling.
Number one race or training tip: Recovery is just as important as any training session. Plan your recovery breaks around your training and don’t be tempted to overdo it.
Coaching discipline(s) and level(s): Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) Level 1
